What to Expect:

Before the First Appointment
Once an appointment has been scheduled, I will email you a confirmation, details about my office, as well as a number of forms for you to complete and bring to your first appointment.  This paperwork covers basic information that I will need from you and informed consent allowing us to work together.

The First Appointment
We will spend 45-50 minutes together reviewing your paperwork, discussing your therapy goals, and clarifying practical concerns such as payment, confidentiality, and cancellations.  This first meeting will allow us the opportunity to get to know one another better and determine whether working together feels like a "good fit."

Subsequent Appointments
If we decide to work together, it is important for you to initially commit to weekly appointments to set the foundation of our work.  Therapy is like a workout for your brain.  In order for change to occur, it is important to build a consistent "workout routine."  We will choose a time each week which will be your dedicated time/space.  Appointments are typically 45 minutes once a week.  Based on your specific needs, appointments may eventually be scheduled every 2 weeks or even once a month.
